Die castings: threads and residual chips inside holes

Thread integrity, machined-hole presence, machining anomalies and residual chips in casting holes.

The component

Casting holes can include threads and other machining features. A thread anomaly concerns feature shape; a chip is residue in the machined area. Missing or damaged machining is another characteristic requiring inspection.

What we inspect

Imago checks threads and looks for chips in hole areas. Inspection includes the presence of machining features and anomalies on the specified machined surfaces. It therefore concerns feature geometry and visible residue in the examined areas.
