The component
The knife has reference features near its handle and towards its end. Blade shape, grooves and distance between tips are distinct characteristics: a regular profile can coexist with a groove of non-conforming depth.
What we inspect
Imago measures the distance between tips and inspects grooves and the blade in specified areas. Checks concern groove depth and profile deviations from the intended geometry. Both dimensional knife references and shape features are examined. The system also provides robot guidance for automatic positioning of the knife at the grinding wheel.
