Telecentric lenses receive only collimated light rays that are parallel to the optical axis.
The lens dimension is the same of the field of view (FoV), the distortion is minimal and guarantees almost total reduction of perspective errors. These lenses overcome some typical limitations of standard equipment used in vision systems.
Moreover, telecentric lenses solve the zoom scale factor problem related to object distance. These lenses can also be applied to light sources obtaining considerable advantages on border sharpness, a fundamental requirement for high resolution measurement application.
